First of all, no where in scripture does it say angels have wings. Seraphim and Cherubim do, but nothing in scripture says these entities are angels. Human's decided somewhere along the way these being were angels. Angels in scripture always appear as human-like entities without wings. God may have actually created three different creatures to reside in heaven: angels, cherubim (Satan was a cherubim; he only "disguised himself as an angel of light), and the seraphim.
